Energy Communities: Hive Power & Rittana

With the support of the "Energia Inclusiva" grant from the SNAM Foundation and the Compagnia di San Paolo, the Municipality of Rittana (CN) has launched the ECOSOM Project (Cooperative and Solidarity Energy for Mountain Villages).

The Rittana CER offers a replicable model for alpine communities, using both photovoltaic and hydroelectric power for self-production and self-consumption. It aims to attract new families and businesses by leveraging energy cost savings and sustainability, paving the way for innovative business models based on circular economy principles. This model suits small municipalities, especially with the upcoming €2.2 billion in PNRR funds for CERs in local authorities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.

Hive Power provides the Rittana CER with data acquisition and visualisation tools through its FLEXO software platform. This platform optimises the management of flexible assets like batteries, charging stations, heat pumps, water heaters, and HVAC systems. It includes web-based data input and integrates third-party systems like ERP and CRM for billing and registry management. The platform features dashboards that display asset operations at various levels of aggregation. FLEXO also manages asset aggregations and sites within energy communities, with a specific module for implementing, monitoring, and managing Collective Self-Consumption (AUC) and Renewable Energy Communities (CER).
