In an interview with Energia & Mercato, Gianluca Corbellini, CEO and co-founder of Hive Power, shared his insights on the importance of smart grids in optimising energy expenses for businesses and households.
Corbellini discussed the priority issues for the Italian market, including the boom in photovoltaic installations and the slow acceleration of electric vehicle sales, and emphasised the essential role of upgrading grids in completing the green transition and electrification of consumption.
In the near future, it will be essential to adjust our energy consumption to take advantage of sunny days or periods of strong wind, when the cost of energy is lower. Italy is still lagging behind on these issues: in the UK many electric vehicles are recharged dynamically, using solutions like ours. Optimising not only consumption, but also consumers' energy expenditure is crucial for the whole society.
